Weakening the Flicker Noise in GPS Vertical Coordinate Time Series Using Hybrid Approaches

Noises in the GPS vertical coordinate time series, mainly including white and flicker noise, have been proven to impair accuracy reliability of products. Various methods were adopted weaken noises such as complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition (CEEMD), wavelet denoising (WD), variational (VMD). However, a single method only works at limited frequency band corresponding ability is insufficient, especially for noise. Hence, this study, we try build two combined methods: CEEMD & WD VMD WD, noise positioning series from Crustal Movement Observation Network China. First, handled original signal using or with appropriate parameters. Then, processed was further denoised by WD. The results show that average reduced 19.90 mm/year0.25 2.8 mm/year0.25. This relates reduction 86% after applying process data, which indicates our solutions outperform 6.84% 16.88% weakening respectively. Those apparent decreases are attributed differences frequencies between other methods, verified analyzing power spectrum density (PSD). With help can identify more hidden low-frequency signals obtained VMD. Finally, found almost identical effects on removing 226 stations China, testified Wilcoxon rank sum test.
